The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the governing and controlling body Indian Cricket Team. In December 1928, BCCI was formed as a society, which was registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. Till date, Indian Cricket team has served so many gemstones to the country, which makes every Indian fond of cricket.
On Wednesday, Committee of Administration (COA) announced BCCI annual player contracts for the period from October 2017 to September 2018. The Board of Control for Cricket in India sprung major surprises in the new contract structure that has amazed everyone with the news that former Caption of Indian Cricket Team, MS Dhoni and senior off-sprinner R. Ashwin has been removed from the top-bracket list while Mohammed Shami was disqualified from the contract due to the allegations of domestic violence and adultery claimed by his wife.
BCCI has also introduced a new category A+ in the new contract system for men’s cricket team of India and a category C for women’s cricket team of India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has also made changes to encourage domestic players by providing an increment to their Match fee by almost 200% in each category. Here is the list of players in each category along with their incremented fee.
Match fees incremented to Rs.7 crore to each player under A+ category:
Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah
Match fees incremented to Rs.5 crore to each player under A category:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, and Wriddhiman Saha
Match fees incremented to Rs.3 crore to each player under B category:
Umesh Yadav, KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dinesh Karthik, and Ishant Sharma
Match fees incremented to Rs.1 crore to each player under C category:
Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Axar Patel, Suresh Raina, Karun Nair, Jayant Yadav, and Parthiv Patel
